Few days left till the start of the “ber” months. Nataong sahod pa! Have you started saving for the holidays?
Alam naman natin kung paano ipagdiwang ng mga Pinoy ang pasko, needless to day, it won’t be complete without decking your halls with Christmas decorations, exchanging gifts with your friends, family and coworkers, and much more activities… Kaya naman September pa lang nag iipon na ang marami sa atin.
What are cool things to save up for the ber months?
1). Save on medicines and supplements: The Filipino tropical weather is well loved, but also equally despised. It does reach as low as 15 to 16 degrees Celsius during the last few months of the year. Kaya naman uso ang cough and cold. Ang pinakamagandang paraan para maiwasan magkasakit is to fight them bago ka pa magkasakit, or better yet, unahan mona sila. Invest in supplements that boost your immune system tulad ng Vitamin C and medicines for cough and colds tulad ng Paracetamol tablets. Tandaan: your health should be of the utmost importance and at the top of your priority list lalo’t may Covid.
2). Save for an emergency fund: You can never be sure what life will throw your way, but you can at least financially prepare for the unexpected by building an emergency fund… Diba nga sabi nila? “Hindi baleng konti ang handa sa pasko basta sama-sama”. Kaya dapat may sapat kang ipon if in case mawalan ka ng trabaho, or have a major unplanned expense ngayong nalalapit na season. Para kahit konti man ang salo-salo ng family mo, at least magkakasama pa rin kayo.
3). Save up money for Super Shopping day: Tuwing Christmas Season, naglalabasan na ang mga stores and shopping apps ng mga seasonal sales! Sulitin ‘to lalo na kapag bibili ng mga regalo, big sales are usually followed by the same pattern: 9-9, 10-10, 11-11, and 12-12. Kung gusto mong mag-add to cart sa darating na 9-9, mag-SAVE ka sa sahod mo ngayong katapusan and repeat it over and over again. Malaki ang matitipid mo sa free shipping, discounts, cashback, atbp.
4). Save and invest. The true meaning of Christmas is giving. Ang pagkakaiba lang, if you have little, konti lang din ang mapapasaya mo, but if you have much, marami kang mapapasaya. Apparently, it is only possible to have much if you invest. So save and invest as much as possible for the many more Christmases to come! Sabi nga nila, “Pasko man o hindi, isapuso ang pagbibigayan”.
